A courageous response unfolded on Fulton Industrial Boulevard involving Fulton County Police Officer Zahir Muid and City of South Fulton Police Lieutenant Charles Cook. Both officers were shot and wounded in the line of duty, yet displayed immense bravery under pressure. In the face of danger, Officer Muid administered critical life-saving aid to Lt. Cook after engaging with the suspect, who was declared deceased at the scene. Officer Muid, a recent addition to the force since December 2024, was treated at Grady Hospital and has been released. Lt. Cook, who transitioned from Fulton County Police to the City of South Fulton Police in 2018, remains in our thoughts as he recovers. The Fulton County family stands united in solidarity and support, saluting the courage and quick thinking demonstrated by both officers today.
