May is National Older Americans Month, and this year’s theme, “Flip the Script on Aging,” is a call to action for communities to rethink how society views and discusses aging. The Douglas County Board of Commissioners has proudly recognized this important month with a proclamation honoring the contributions of seniors in the community.

They encourage everyone to join in this celebration by challenging outdated stereotypes and embracing the wisdom and experiences that seniors bring to our neighborhoods and families.

With the acceptance of the proclamation by Dr. Konswella Gilchrist, Managing Director of Community Services, the community is reminded of their commitment to making Douglas County a welcoming place for all ages.
