In anticipation of the upcoming Atlanta Jazz Festival, they reflect on last year’s memorable celebration in Piedmont Park. For nearly five decades, Atlanta has kicked off summer with the largest free jazz festival in the country, thanks to Mayor Maynard Jackson’s vision and ongoing support from sponsors and the Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs.
The tradition continues this Memorial Day weekend, May 24–25, in Piedmont Park. This festival is a cornerstone of Atlanta’s cultural scene, uniting music lovers and honoring a rich jazz heritage. It’s a free event designed to uplift and inspire attendees, promising an incredible atmosphere filled with joy and rhythm.
