Exploring the World of Bees at Camp Compass!

This Wednesday marked a memorable occasion at City’s Camp Compass as they welcomed renowned beekeeper Bart Vantieghem from the @miltonbeeclub. In honor of the upcoming National Pollinator Week, Bart led an engaging exploration into the fascinating world of bees.

The children got hands-on experience, working together to construct a real beehive, ensuring that every piece fit perfectly to create a welcoming home for their buzzing friends. Through this activity, they learned about the life cycles of bees, from tiny eggs to lively adults, discovering the vital roles each bee plays within the hive.

Additionally, they had the opportunity to taste delicious Milton honey, sourced directly from nearby hives. This delightful experience was filled with joy and learning, inspiring the children to become future advocates for bees.
