The 31st Annual Kids Fishing Derby was a remarkable event filled with excitement and camaraderie. This past weekend, 57 young anglers, aged 4 to 16, gathered to showcase their fishing skills as they aimed to catch catfish, bream, and largemouth bass. The competition was fierce, and the enthusiasm was palpable as they reeled in their catches.
Special recognition goes to the standout participants:
– Walker Brown for the Heaviest Fish
– Niya Scarlett for Most Fish Caught
– Colin Donnell, the Youngest Angler
– Sofia Scarlett and Garett Bishop for the Longest Fish (tie)
A heartfelt thank you to the sponsors GA-DNR, Folkston Auto Supply, and Yancey Brothers, as well as the Camden County Solid Waste Authority team for their invaluable support and leadership.
With such a successful event behind them, the community is already looking forward to next year’s derby. Stay tuned for updates on registration and event details for this free, family-friendly fishing competition!
