Empowering Communities Through Civic Engagement

In 2004, visionary leaders Lorenzo Scott, Charlie Flemming, and Cathy Howell established Georgia STAND-UP, a dynamic force for community change. Under the inspirational leadership of Executive Director Deborah Scott, they have transformed the organization into a powerful “think and act tank for working families.”

Their mission focuses on enhancing civic engagement, voter education, and equitable public policy. Georgia STAND-UP unites community, labor, academic, and government partners to address pressing issues such as housing, transit, environmental justice, and economic opportunity in Fulton County.
