Milton Planning Commission to Discuss Office Complex Redevelopment

Milton’s Planning Commission will convene Wednesday to consider a request related to the proposed redevelopment of an office complex around where Morris Road, Webb Road, and Deerfield Parkway meet.

The January 14 Special Called Meeting will start at 6 p.m. in City Hall’s Council Chambers (2006 Heritage Walk). Citizens are welcome to attend in-person or watch online at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LaoKbZ59i5o.

This will be the first meeting of 2026 for the Planning Commission, which consists of seven City Council-appointed members. It evaluates and recommends changes to zoning ordinances, subdivision regulations, zoning maps, and overall planning processes, in addition to opining on variance and other requests as part of Milton’s public hearing process (meaning other City boards discuss and share their thoughts on the same items).

In fact, the project that will be discussed Wednesday was the focus of a Community Zoning Information Meeting last December and on the Design Review Board’s agenda earlier this month.

Located at 13010 Morris Road, this approximately 25-acre property is home to two tall office buildings that would remain as part of the overall plan. B Developers has proposed that 56.8% of the total units in the redevelopment will be residential, with the remaining 43.2% of units to be commercial. About 24% of the total property would be dedicated civic space that’s open to the general public, including a trail that connects to a pedestrian loop encircling all of Deerfield.

The plan calls for two buildings of multifamily units, with 70 units per building. The Planning Commission will have the opportunity Wednesday to weigh in on the corresponding “Use Permit” that’s required for this specific use. Planning Commission members may also ask questions pertaining to how the project may fit into this area overall.

This multi-faceted mixed-use development plan includes retail spaces, townhouses, office space, and other features that are allowed by right under the Deerfield Form Based Code. It also features a range of amenities for those who live on-site (such as a gym, pool, and a co-working space) as well as those who live nearby (such as a community building with public restrooms). This mix of uses aims to reactivate the property’s existing (and currently vacant) commercial buildings.
