Buzzing with Bees: Camp Compass Experience!

This Wednesday, they welcomed beekeeper extraordinaire Bart Vantieghem from the @miltonbeeclub at City’s Camp Compass. In anticipation of National Pollinator Week, Bart provided a fun exploration of the world of bees for the kids.

The campers eagerly rolled up their sleeves to build a real beehive, fitting each piece together to create a cozy home for their buzzing buddies. They learned about the life cycles of bees, from tiny eggs to lively adults, and discovered the critical roles each bee plays in the hive.

The highlight was a sweet tasting session featuring delicious Milton honey, sourced straight from nearby hives! This bee-autiful experience was filled with joy and learning, inspiring the next generation of bee advocates.
