Fulton County’s budget for 2026 will be approved by the Board of Commissioners this month. County finance officials unveiled the proposed operating budget in November.
A public hearing was held on December 3, and commissioners will discuss the proposed budget at their January 7 meeting, with possible amendments before final approval.
The 2026 proposed budget includes $1.053 billion in General Fund expenditures, up $63.4 million from 2025, and a total budget of $1.44 billion for all funds.
The budget is designed to maintain current services amid ongoing costs from the 2024 cyberattack, rising expenses, and new requirements under the U.S. Department of Justice consent decree for the Fulton County Jail, including staffing, security, and maintenance improvements.
